The paintings of the Becoming Visible and Current Events series, a comprehensive exhibition that included over fifteen large paintings.: The Breadmaker, Archer, Giving Birth, Firebuilder touch on basic instinctual yet symbolic events and circumstances that we as men and women in the 21st century have to face, to redefine for ourselves. Becoming Visible and Current Events embraces poetic surrealism, where the process of painting led me to find images that resonated with my core instincts and demanded to be painted. These elemental messages speak to women’s roles in creating a life of nurturing while at the same time of being one’s true authentic self and balancing a career.
